I think we can all agree that 2020 was not the year we expected it to be. For some it was a complete shit show and for others it wasn’t too bad. Either way I’m sure we all are hoping that 2021 is vastly different.
In order to make the best out of the year no matter what it brings I have some tips for you.
1. Set a Goal
No, I don’t mean make a list of New Year’s resolutions that you will NEVER accomplish. Set 1 goal, and only 1, then go all in on achieving it. You’re more likely to make progress and even achieve your goal if you are focused on just 1 instead of a list of 50 that cover every area known to man.
Here are some posts that will help you not only learn how to set a goal but actually achieve it.
2. Take What Comes with Grace and Positivity
Even though we are hoping for 2021 to be better than 2020 we all know it’s going to be far from normal. Places are still going to be shut down, mandates will be in place all over the country, and travel plans will most likely change. Whatever happens try to take it with grace and positivity. I know it’s frustrating and its ok to be angry. Let yourself feel those emotions but after a little while make yourself move on and start identifying the positive aspects of the situation and your life.
3. Try to Get Organized.
I know it can be a huge undertaking but getting organized can drastically decrease the stress in your life. If being organized isn’t something that comes naturally for you then I suggest starting small. Just pick one room in your house and start there. I know it can be hard to not get distracted by all the other rooms but try to stay focused.

4. Get Out of Your Comfort Zone
Yes, getting out of our comfort zone is uncomfortable and awkward but life is boring if we stay in our own little bubbles. Pick something that makes you a little nervous and go for it. Maybe that means going to a new meet up, going sky diving, or even having a much-needed uncomfortable conversation.
5. Start Doing Something That Makes You Happy
We all get so caught up in our day-to-day life, especially if you’re a mom, that we tend to forget to have fun. The things that bring us joy get pushed to the side and life goes on. I say take this year to start doing something that brings you joy. Don’t take anyone else’s happiness into consideration. If it makes you happy, doesn’t hurt anyone else, and isn’t illegal I say go for it. You deserve to be happy .
Some ideas are hand lettering, crocheting, painting, wood working, or crafting.
2021 isn’t going to be normal by our standards but it can be the best we make it. Choose to make it a great one and it will be. Set a goal, take what comes with grace and positivity, try to get organized, get out of your comfort zone, and star doing something that makes you happy.
